✦ On rest: 002

Somewhere along the way, rest became something you had to justify. You called it recovery so it felt productive. You called it self-care so it felt earned. You got so good at naming the stillness that you forgot how to actually enter it.

Rest isn’t a reward for exhaustion. It’s the original state you were pulled away from.

Your nervous system remembers what your calendar forgot. It knows the difference between a pause and a performance. And it has been quietly, patiently asking you to come home to it - not when you’ve finished everything, but right now, before you do another thing.
